Bill Says: Was I Watching The Sopranos?

Wow, was I watching an episode of The Sopranos or The Apprentice? I am sorry Vinny Pastore resigned from the competition. I enjoyed watching him work. I do think he could have stuck around longer if had he wanted to. In the boardroom, Mr. Trump was looking for a way to let Piers Morgan go, but clearly Vinny did not want to stay.

I think Vinny resigned because last week, as project manager, his team won and he received a $20,000 check for his charity. At this stage of the game, why continue if you are not having any fun? He didn’t want to deal with the conflict between him and Piers anymore, so he decided to go home to be with his family. Remember, these people already have careers and their motivation to stay is much different than mine was during Season One.

Trace Adkins came up with a real winner with the “wear them share them” logo for his team. I like the way he sits back and doesn’t talk unless he has something important to say. A lot of people can learn from his style.

Hope you all have a great weekend,

Bill

I hated to see Vinny quit as well, particularly when the other guys (besides Lennox, British camaraderie being what it is) wanting him to stay over Piers. And interesting how quiet, unassuming Trace (a) came up with the genius slogan (even though Piers would never have previously given him credit for having the intelligence) and (b) became Ivanka's "moral compass" for deciding whether the sabotage ploy was okay.

I heard about actors that can't leave their characters behind when their act (or work) is over. Some carry traits into their real lives and I belive this happened to Vinny. Vinny was lost with the whole mafia business style, new york talk but looked like a big baby in the boardroom. He was hurt by not getting any recognition from Empresario and honestly, I don't think the ladys won this task... it sounded more like Donald decided to give this win to them.

Stephen Baldwin showed some character flaws. As a re-born christian, he should have been more vocal about the espionage (or sabotage) idea. I don't think he is naive by acting as christian but has some real conflicting moral issues that can't deal in life by himself. In other words, he needs to think through some of these moral issues before taking a position and I don't belive he can do that alone, out of his environment. Stephen will be the next contestant confused and lost in this jungle, not the leader or corporate businessman Mr. Trump is looking for.

Pierz is obnoxious as usual, a royal pain in the butt... all this crap about espionage and sabotage, that's ridiculous. He framed his co-worker and that's it. Pierz wanted to see Vinny go and he got it done. He took advantage of his feelings, worked well his weaknesses.

Nely, Pierz, Omarosa, Stephen and Tito are the biggest egos that will collide in the next episodes. Most will be the predictable choices to be fired. I'm rooting for Tracy and Lennox to stay to the end in the Hydra side, I'm rooting for Carol and Marilu to be the NY Giants of the celebrity superbowl.

Any lessons from this episode? Celebrity Apprentice is not a reality tv show. It is a scripted artwork. Since Gene Simmons departure, Mr. Donald, family and crew will have to double their efforts to make this program interesting to the viewers. They have delivered so far, but can they continue?
